Break the workflow...

Postby pfarber » 21 Jan 2012, 04:21

I've toyed around with ST for over a year as updates come out.

Is there anyway to break the workflow? Ie deskew then output?

Way to much stuff is getting messed up when I have to set margins or do the 'other steps' that are not required.

Does the CLI version do this? I mean you should be able to ls *.tiff| scantailor-cli -dewarp and have the images dewarp... all the other 'features' just make like difficult.

It's not possible (yet), particularly not before dewarping is moved into the Deskew stage. As it works now, dewarping relies on knowing the content box, and content box detection relies on deskewing being done.
When Scan Tailor asks you to enter DPIs manually, never enter arbitrary values. The video tutorial shows how to estimate the real DPI.

I wish you continued success on Scantailor, but to be honest its not worth my frustration to try to get your workflow system to complete.

Convert -deskew, and GIMP with deskew plug in is working well, and I can get all of the other functions from other tools.
