SDHC Card quality

Postby Gastrophete » 22 Aug 2011, 11:03

Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my 1gb cards to 4gb cards. Now I'm wondering how important the quality of the card is.

I can shoot once every 5 seconds with an A480. Will a SanDisk Standard Class 4 be good enough or should I increase the class or go with the Ultra, Extreme, or even a better brand?

Thanks!

Your camera's images are 2.5 megabytes and according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_dig ... ass_Rating class 4 cards go to 4 mb a second ideally so you're more than fine even if the card doesn't match it's rating. I'm not sure how large cards your camera will take, the specs didn't say, but personally I buy larger class 10 cards and I've had very good luck with Transcend cards. They are much cheaper, get good ratings, and have performed very well for me. You need class 6 or better for HD video if I recall correctly.
