If anyone is interested in Google+, I just got in today and it looks like I can send out invites for the time being. Just send me a PM with your email. No promises - I got an invite from a random/awesome person at reddit last night, but it wasn't until today that the invite worked and I could sign up. Supposedly it will be open to the public by the end of July, but I have nothing to cite for that.
I've seen some really good things about this social networking service. If it's actually out of beta I'd like to look into it further. I especially liked the way it seemed to offer more flexibility regarding what you can let people see and not see, so you can designate someone not just as a "friend" (like on Facebook) but as an "acquaintance" in varying degrees, some people having access to more than others. It also looked pretty user-friendly.
I like the whole new idea of limiting stuff you share on your network which is just great.
I mean, it would be no issue if you have a lot of friends on your list but it is a different thing with letting everyone see your updates, even those who are in no way related to it.
But some say that kills the idea of having a social network but I disagree, at all levels so people could still get some form of privacy.
I know this thread is quite old now however I just wanted to point out that Google+ has come on considerably since this post was first started and I can say it has huge benefits for personal and buisness relations.
A great way to share advice, stories and updates to specific people rather than like Facebook and Twitter which goes to everyone in your profile!
