by the way, i think that SDM and CDHK things should be in the Hardware section along with the Cameras stuff...

I've probably made some mistakes and missed some things along the way, too. We'll have to keep our eyes open for the next short while.

maybe this is too specific, but I have seen a lot of threads about PDF stuff. maybe we can add an Output Formats section (including PDF, epub, etc.) for scanned images?

I think that is something we can do later. It is a constant question, but for one, Mobileread.com does that discussion way better, and for two, we just have a lot of forums. For now, let's see how things ride out.

If people here generally want a forum about ouptut formats, please start a poll and let me know, and I'll set one up.

I'm not happy with the way we have organised the software section. I feel that we are missing a category or something. Maybe post process?

I'm in agreement with you, it doesn't seem right.

Let's look at the total workflow; maybe that will help.

1. Build scanner.
2. Capture images with scanner.
3. Copy images to computer.
4. Process images.
5. OCR images.
6. Bind resulting files into output format.

What, if anything, does this help clarify? I'd like to hear from Rob and/or Anonymous2, and/or Steve and Tulon, strider1551, Misty, etc... they work on software all the time.

BTW, I am OK with, for example, leaving the software section until we hear back from some of our developers...

I think the software section is not as important as the Hardware section in terms of people posting over there. Maybe we can leave this until we get the opinion of Rob, Misty, Tulon, and etc.
