LED Camcorder lighting unit

I've been jotting down notes for some time now for my own build, but have only recently started to look at the lighting. I got an email from a company I have bought stuff off in the past and this caught my eye:

http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product ... _id=109451

The specs are:

Compact size of H7 x W7 x D3cm - Easy to handhold if needed !
Lightweight at just 198grams (with batteries inserted)
No cables or wire to tangle - very portable and easy to position, keep at least one in your equipment bag !
Supplied complete with FREE mounting bracket which fits virtually all compact and SLR type cameras and also camcorders !
Unit also mounts onto cameras hot shoe or video light accessory shoe
Mounts onto any regular tripod using the standard (1/4 inch) socket underneath
Compact size of H7 x W7 x D3cm - Easy to handhold
Technical: Colour temperature: 5,500K - LED luminosity: 480 lumens
Requires 4 x AA (LR6) batteries (use Alkaline or NiMh Rechargeable), these are not included in our price but please see product links below to assist !
Battery life - 2 to 4 hours depending on mode selected.

It seems to be the right sort of colour temperature but I haven't got a grasp of whether 480 lumens is good or not yet. They seem cheap enough to take a punt, I am sure I can sort out a mains supply rather than eat through batteries, and the reviews all seem to be positive (for macro work, at least) but wondered if anyone else has used them and/or has any comments.

The output of that light is 1/5 of the typical 30W LED floodlight (2400lm).

Thanks. I guessed there was a reason I didn't spot any when searching through the lighting thread!
