OCRFeeder

Postby L0g1cM0del » 06 Feb 2011, 19:19

Hi all, I have looked through the forums a bit and haven't seen OCRFeeder mentioned anywhere. I was wondering if anyone has used it any. I found it a while back when I was looking for open source OCR's. I have tried it out and it seems to be promising. It only outputs to ODT and HTML so they're not the most usable formats, but I like the way it lets you pick which OCR engine you have installed and use. With further development, it could be really nice.

For GNOME!!! This will be used heavily. Thank you very much. I should look more at what GDE has to offer...

Thanks. I haven't had much time to play with it, but it is a memory monster. It just keeps nomming, and nomming, and nomming. It even started to eat up my swap space.

I guess I'll have to live with it, but it has slowed Ubuntu down to a crawl (I have never had a "freeze"; only a really, really slow system).

Exporting to PDF "Seachable" and "From Scratch" is now available for OCRfeeder. Also hocr-support should be coming soon, according to the developer. Wouldnt it be great if ScanTailor and OCRfeeder become one application?
