CZUR ET24 Pro to epub?
Yes I have a couple of Canon A810 which I experimented with but I'm lazy and eventually brought a CZUR ET24 Pro which does the job and I don't have to worry about lighting and so forth. I have a few elderly books with small font size some pages are numbered, and the printing has faded in places. It ...

Re: Wiki or Wikibook?
It's just the link at the top of the page that doesn't work then.

Re: Wiki or Wikibook?
I've put the first couple of pages in a wikibook with what looks like the very basics to me.
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/DIY_Book_Scanner/main
Please feel free to add and correct it.
The advantage of the wikibook is they look after all the spam filtering etc.
Thanks John

Wiki or Wikibook?
Sounds daft but whilst there is a lot of useful information in the forum it isn't easy to find the basics. Perhaps a wiki book might be an idea. http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Main_Page Wikibooks are fairly stable and I think useful. The alternative is a wiki here but we'd need a first page for that t...

Re: Portable Build Lighting Question
I've picked up a Home Depot LED work light 15 watts and 800 lumens but I can't see a colour temperature on it. My first test image seems a little grey but after adjusting the exposure its much whiter and seems to OCR better. I assume once I get into CHDK settings and fix the length of exposure etc i...

Re: Questions on Building a simple paperback scanner
As a follow up in case anyone else has a A810 quote from the CHDK forum:
"ver.req method does not work on A810. If you are trying to discover firmware version to install CHDK, you can use ACID or STICK"
Cheerio John

Re: Questions on Building a simple paperback scanner
Acid worked perfectly for the first one. I'll take a photograph with the second camera and get the version number for that one as well. Knowing the version is 100e I went back and tried the two keys once more. It told me I had a 16 gig memory card etc but I couldn't see 100e anywhere. Many Thanks Ch...

Re: Questions on Building a simple paperback scanner
How do I check the version number on an A810? http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_for_Dummies#How_to_check_the_firmware_version_of_a_Canon_P.26S_camera Has some information but not quite enough. I have created both ver.req and vers.req in the root of the card. There is a center button marked "func ...
