Get a glass door pivot hinge and mount it on the side edge (rather than the back edge like in the photo). Glass Door Pivot Hinge
Those brackets look similar to a shelf bracket, but most shelf brackets don't have a long slot for the screws into the wooden shelf. They are probably custom made for this application. You could try to make them from some angle, or what I'd do is slip a roller bearing on the hinges' pins and cut a dado groove into a piece of hardwood mounted vertically off the base and let the bearing ride in that slot.

This is a finished product from Kaiser fototechnik, and can not be bought seperate.
Here is the link: http://www.kaiser-fototechnik.de/en/pro ... sp?nr=5904
Beside this you also need to buy a photostand depicted in the sample pictures. Those are expensive, but can be bought 2nd hand if you are lucky. Most of time from photography studios who stop working.

Re: glass platen construction
I think they will be called glass door hinges. I looked them up in my country.

These will need holes in the glass to attach the hinge making it more expensive because of the holes.
Another type are swivels which will do the same. look here.

The glass door pivot hinge that I linked to in my previous reply doesn't require you to drill holes in the glass to attach the hinge. The metal set screws bear down on a plastic plate that is placed between the glass pane and the inside of the 'U' piece of the hinge that the set screws go through.
