Hey - for those of you near larger Metro areas, google to see if you have a Free Market like we do in the Twin Cities area. Here's a link to the Home Page: http://www.twincitiesfreemarket.org/index.cfm
Ours is run by the non-profit recycling company that has the contract to take all recyclables from Mpls/St Paul they are a great company and even hold seminars on composting, etc. Anyway, in order to reduce the stuff that gets to them, they started this web site and you can list stuff you want to get rid of or get stuff you want. I've gotten a bunch of garden stuff this way, including patio cushions, and gotten rid of 20 RR ties we didn't need anymore - at no cost.
Also, for anyone in the Twin Cities area, my hubby and I have a bunch of nice wood given to us by his step-father that and we can't possibly use it all for the projects we do. If you live in the area, respond to this and we'll see if we can get you some wood!
