Editing now disabled

Post by rob »

Immediately after you've said it,
Twenty users have already read it.
Retroactively changing
your words is deranging,
which is why I've disabled "edit".

Remember to preview your posts until you have it exactly the way you want it. If you need to update a post, just post a follow-up. We'll understand :)

Followup on this:

We decided that a limited editing time might be better that disallowing edits. Right now we are set up so that you can edit for one day after posting. If you need an edit or delete after one day, please contact me via PM or email and let me know.

I don't think PHPBB accepted 1440 as a valid value for the edit window. I have now set it to 999. Can anyone confirm that their new posts are now editable?

Nope. I just posted something in Software, and there is no edit button to be clicked.

I've enabled editing for the Social board. Can someone who is not an admin (i.e. me or Dan) post something there? See if there's an edit button after you post it, and then come back ten minutes later, refresh, and see if the edit button has disappeared.
