Re: Suggestion to book scanning software developers (free so
This is a really good suggestion for our developers here and I encourage it.
However, from private discussions with developers over the years, most haven't received much even when they did have a donate link (like Scan Tailor).

The main reason I removed the donation link for Scan Tailor is that legally I have to pay taxes from those donations. In recent years the amount of donations was so small that it was no longer worth the hassle.
The new maintainer of Scan Tailor is free to start accepting donations again, if he wishes so.

Scan Tailor experimental doesn't output 96 DPI images. It's just what your software shows when DPI information is missing. Usually what you get is input DPI times the resolution enhancement factor.
